and send them to info@davidbaldwin.net
Please return
soon to find out all the details for training and matches for
the season 2003/04...ta muchly...
17.05.03
- Another late update!
Once again,
apologies for the lack of updates...sadly 3rd year brings lots
of work...
Well, we
now have a strip!! And what a strip it is...pictures will be coming
online soon, but thanks goes to Mark, Andrew and Ben for designing
a most tremendous piece of clothing...makes us look like real
pros!! (but we are aren't we?!)
Anyhow...keep
an eye out on this site for news of next season...sadly I'm graduating
this year, so i'll not be around to see us win the league...it's
been great lads...I'll never forget it!! snif...
28.02.03
- Sorry for the delay in updating!
Well, it's
been ages since I updated the site...really cause I've been doing
my dissertation and didn't have time...
Well that's
the first ever season for Crayola Rugby done and dusted, and for
a first season we really didn't do too badly...it's looking very
promising for next year...though i'll not be here...sob...
TEAM KIT:
Mark et al have done a great job on the team shirts, they're look
top knotch...can't wait to see them for real, so here's a wee
sneek preview: [click
here]
The kit will
cost £38 each, with a £5 deposit to be paid to Mark
asap...please also email Mark with your size and number requirements
(that team number!)
18.01.03
- Welcome back, Happy New Year (and Happy Birthday to me)
Happy New
Year one and all...welcome back...hope exams are going well!
LATEST NEWS:
We have a game on Wednesday 29th January against Armstrong RFC
at Close House. This is NOT the Cup game. The cup will start in
the second week in February (I think it's the 12th).
We will have
our first training session next Sunday (26th) at Henderson Hall
(most probably the school fields).
FROM THE
GAFFER: I am starting to get the new kit in motion but I really
need to know some numbers as I don't want to over/under order.
Another thing that has been brought up is whether we duplicate
numbers, i.e. whether say Dave, James, and Hutch all have number
9. I am happy for people to have the same numbers, but Crayola
is a democratic organisation so I will leave the decision to you
guys.
PUB CRAWL:
The 'Braveheart' night date is not known at the moment but i'll
let you know at a later date. Regarding the awards dinner we'll
wait until our cup run is over! But i'll let you know that aswell.
Finally,
it's my birthday today (Dave) and I'm feeling old as I'm 23...here's
to my pension...
12.12.02
- Happy Christmas...
Well, we
finished the term third from bottom, a pretty good start for Crayola
Rugby, we can all be proud!! All that's left for me to say is
'HAPPY CHRISTMAS' and 'HAPPY NEW YEAR'...I hope you all get drunk
and party hard into the next year...I for one will be soaking
up the, em...alcohol...in Edinburgh, I may see some of you there...take
it easy...
Oh, and remember
to order your kilts for the William Wallace pub crawl in early
January...I'd recommend Moss Bros on Northumberland Street or
a wee shop in Old Eldon Sq. opposite the war memorial, and remember
your sporans(!)...til then...
28.11.02
- Another loss...
Another loss
for Crayola, but not a bad game really, just a better side and
a crap ref. (did I say crap? I meant fecking wank). More details
coming soon...
Hogmanay
2002/03: Not sure what you guys are doing for New Year, but
I have a few spare tickets for Edinburgh's Hogmanay Party. It's
by far the biggest in Europe and second in size only to Times
Square, NY (second to none for quality!). This is the place
to be at New Year!! If anyone wants a ticket then I'll give them
away on a first-come-first-served basis...please only take one
if you can make it as they are in short supply...more info
here: www.edinburghshogmanay.org
- for a ticket email me: d.f.baldwin@ncl.ac.uk.
21.11.02
- We can't help ourselves!!
Well, it's
happened again...another glorious win for Crayola Rugby, and another
try for Mark Holmes...captaining the team in style! Crayola were
all over the Henderson Hall team, and should have scored a great
deal more after long periods encamped in the Henderson twenty-two,
but wet conditions made handling tricky and running 'boggy'...more
details here...score: 8-5
18.11.02
- Crayola RFC Club Dinner
We are planning to have an end of season presentation dinner
(probably some curry house somewhere!), where awards will be given,etc...in
short, a bloody good piss-up....details to follow soon...
13.11.02
- WIN!! WIN!! WIN!!
Well, the
number 13 may be unlucky to some, but for the Crayola boys it
brought luck in the shape of a WIN!! Yes, you read correctly,
the Crayloians recorded their first ever win on 13.11.02...a date
that will remain enshrined in history. Read about it here.
10.11.02
- More points, but no win...
Another loss,
but out best loss yet, with only 34 points scored against us (3
for)!! Next match is Agrics II at Heaton...watch this space for
details...
29.10.02
- Cheeky Ladies...
Well, this
week's game is against the Cheeky Ladies at Close House. Meet
at 12.30pm outside the Daysh Building as usual.
KIT UPDATE:
The kit is being sorted, but will only be available for those
who have paid their 20 quid (so payup now!)
END OF SEASON
TRIP: We are thinking of organising an end of season trip to either
Scotland or Ireland. We'll hopefully play a wee spot of rugby
against local teams and get in a bit of drinking time too. The
price would probably be somewhere in the region of £85 per
head (depending on destination, duration etc)...If you're interested
please let Mark know asap so we can work out if we need bother
organise it!!
AND FINALY:
If anyone can get us games after the inter-mural season has finished,
i.e. March, April, May, could they let Mark know (Games versus
old schools, clubs, etc.) | m.d.holmes@ncl.ac.uk
27.10.02
- A little known website(s)...
If you're
bored of an evening, why not visit www.project3.fsnet.co.uk
and listen to some melodic masterpieces brought to you by Dave
B's band, or if you're in a more reflective mood, why not surf
to a little know website belonging to our resident poet, Ben Layton:
www.alittleknownpoet.co.uk.
25.10.02
- Result, well sort of...
We scored
points!! Two great tries by Mark and Jorin put the first points
on the board for Crayola. Despite yet another loss, the game was
really positive with loads to take from it...read about it here.
I've added
a new links section, so if you have any random links you want
adding, just email me...links.
Also,
Hutchy beware...your attempts to avoid the gimp suit have been
noticed...your trial awaits...
Finally, due to the shear number of events attributed to
this one person, a special page has been created especially for
you: John Walton.
