'CRAYOLA SCORE.....TWICE!'

Week 3 of the Inter-Mural Premier Division season, and the Crayola boys finally get their first try! It wasn't pretty, I must admit, but a try's a try's a try!

A poachers try from the masterful scrum-half Mark Holmes got Crayola's first ever try. This was followed up by a much better looking try from the rampaging Jorin Grimsdale who finished a great move off in style with a dive into the corner. It could have been more if Ben Layton had a brain, with him squandering more than one try scoring opportunity! Crayola, who were missing a few regulars due to the country's poor train system, and the fact that the hooker had to watch a film, looked like the better side for vast periods of the match, spending long periods camped on the Medics try-line. The defence was solid and only the fast little chinky managed to dart through and score, despite being chased by a 'quicker than he looks' Andy Storey.

It was a match of many incidents, but none as memorable as Spuggy's peacemaking efforts, a good 15 or so seconds after the scuffle was over, after he had sprinted half the length of a rather bumpy field. Malc looks as if he is coming on as a player as he managed to figure out the aim of the game this week, helped a little by the fact we actually scored! Credit must also be given to Dave, who refereed a hard game between the Agrics and A.R.D and had to break up fights within the forwards....and he's only a little fella! The Crayola match had more than one referee, with Hutch and James making their feelings known more than once, and often getting decisions their way!

It was a hard-fought battle and Crayola stuck at it to record a memorable result, and seem to be coming together as a team, which I'm sure will be more than evident at the forthcoming court case of Mr N. Hutchinson!! All in All, a good performance. Roll on next week!

Oh, by the way, the score was: Crayola 10, Medics 39...

Mark Holmes
